A familiar home, seen through light.
The Light Well Residence explores the relationship between domestic routines, family relationships, and a central source of daylight. The light well gives the house a shared orientation while creating moments of separation and connection.
The courtyard becomes an interior landscape.
Stairs, openings, and changes in level organize the home around light. Spatial relationships are developed through plans, sections, and models, studying how two generations can share a house while maintaining different patterns of everyday life.
Small spatial decisions. Daily consequences.
An individual academic project completed in 2022. The proposal focuses on the patio and staircase as architectural elements that connect everyday experiences.
