Gentle Monument combines a community library and a railway station. A linear reading room bridges the two, making waiting, reading, and moving through the city part of one continuous public experience.
Large sliding metal panels allow a seemingly solid volume to open into a greenhouse-like space. The project studies how form can offer a recognizable civic presence while remaining adaptable, generous, and connected to its surroundings.




Developed in the fall 2024 Harvard GSD studio taught by Angelo Lunati. The project brings together adaptive reuse, public infrastructure, and an environmentally responsive intermediate space.
